Our video here also explains the difference between pharmaceutical standards and food grade supplements and the huge difference it can make in quality: What are the benefits of vitamin D3?Vitamin D3 is a fantastic nutrient that's essential for our overall well-being and boasts a number of benefits, including:
What is vitamin D3?
We produce vitamin D3 in our skin when exposed to adequate ultraviolet light from the sun. However, our modern lifestyles, which tend to keep us indoors, are depriving us of the sunshine we need. Unfortunately, even the foods we eat rarely contain enough vitamin D3 - if any at all! Our vitamin D3 supplements are easy to take and specially formulated in gel 'pearls'. Vitamin D3 is liposoluble (dissolves in oil), so an oil-based formula is best. Our preparation is dissolved in cold pressed organic olive oil to enhance absorption. They contain the cholecalciferol form of vitamin D3. Who might be deficient in vitamin D3?So, what are the symptoms of a vitamin D deficiency? Fatigue, hair loss, back and muscle pain, and even depression can be symptoms of a lack of vitamin D3. More than one billion people worldwide are estimated to be deficient in vitamin D3. The UK government recommends a vitamin D3 supplement for several key groups of people, including:

How do vitamin D3 supplements work?
Vitamin D is an important daily supplement, but what is the use of vitamin D3? Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body, of which our bones and teeth store 99%. Vitamin D3 increases the absorption of calcium from food and reduces the excretion of calcium from the body. Since our skeleton acts as a reservoir for calcium therefore our bones become depleted if our calcium intake is insufficient.
Vitamin D3 supplements can also help maintain healthy muscles and nerves, as well as a healthy immune system.
What's more, studies have shown that vitamin D may stimulate the body's production of anti-viral and anti-bacterial proteins. Some experts say they would choose a vitamin D supplement before vitamin C when considering cold and flu protection!
How much vitamin D3 should I take?
We recommend the following:
400IU - 1-5 capsules per day
800IU - 1-5 capsules per day
1,000IU - 1-4 capsules per day
4,000IU - 1 capsule per day
5,000IU - 1 capsule every other day
Or as directed by a physician.
