You may be lacking a vital nutrient - but the solution is simple

We need vitamin B12 for many crucial body functions, but people who avoid animal products, older adults or others with poor nutrient absorption may not obtain enough for good health. Bio-Vitamin B12 can help.

We depend on getting all the different vitamins and minerals. That’s why it is so important to eat a healthy and balanced diet. However, one specific vitamin poses a problem because it's primarily found in animal food sources. Vitamin B12 has a long list of important functions. It contributes to a normal immune defence, nervous system function, the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, helps cells divide normally, and supports normal psychological functions, just to name a few.

A problem for vegetarians and vegans

Because vitamin B12 is found mainly in animal-based foods (such as meats and dairy), people on plant-based diets such as vegetarians, vegans and those who don’t regularly consume animal products could face low B12 levels. The same is the case with people who have problems with their nutrient absorption, as is often found in older adults.

Some studies also show that the process of converting vitamin B12 from its inactive form (as either cyanocobalamin or hydroxycobalamin) into the active form (methylcobalamin) becomes less efficient with age.

Some people may also not produce enough of a protein called ‘intrinsic factor’ – a protein made in the stomach that is needed for normal absorption of B12 from the gut.

    Lozenges with active vitamin B12

A safe, convenient, and manageable solution to this potential problem is to take a vitamin B12 supplement. Bio-Vitamin B12 is a lozenge that’s designed to dissolve in the mouth, allowing vitamin B12 to be absorbed effectively through the oral mucosa. It can also be an attractive option for people who have difficulty swallowing conventional tablets.

With Bio-Vitamin B12 that contains 600 micrograms of methylcobalamin in each lozenge, you only need to take one per day. The lozenges are small and have a pleasant peppermint flavour.

    A “heavily underrated” nutrient

Many scientists call vitamin B12 a “heavily underrated vitamin” because there is too little focus on the fact that so many people don’t get enough. In many cases where a person feels tired and lacks energy, vitamin B12 could help reduce tiredness and fatigue. It is important to obtain enough B12 to help the body maintain normal energy metabolism and other vitamin B12-dependent functions.
