Bio-Glucosamine + MSM Cream - Support and soothe joints

    About the nutrient

Glucosamine is a small water-soluble molecule (an amino-monosaccharide) that the body itself can produce as part of the structure of our joints. Glucosamine is one of the major building blocks of joints, as well as the compounds glycosaminoglycans and hyaluronic acid.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a small sulphur-containing molecule which demonstrates various benefits including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. MSM may help maintain normal flexibility of joints and arteries while also increasing the transdermal (skin) absorption of glucosamine.  In the body MSM naturally occurrs in bones, collagen and in connective tissues

Why do we need to supplement?

Healthy joints and cartilage are important for maintaining quality of life. The better your joints function, the easier it is for you to stay physically active and enjoy different activities.

Application of a topical cream can help supporting aching tissues. Joint tissues are susceptible to damage as a result of the normal ageing process, genetics, injuries, repetitive movements (such as work-related movement), lifting heavy weights incorrectly, being overweight/obese or avoiding strength-building exercise.

How does it work in the body?

Glucosamine is found naturally in the body where it plays an important role in making glycosaminoglycans and glycoproteins, compounds needed to maintain joints.  MSM demonstrates various mechanisms including reducing inflammation, which is considered to be a major mechanism in the development of joint pain.

Both glucosamine and MSM have shown potential for joint support in clinical trials and MSM has been shown to aid the absorption of glucosamine through the skin.

    Benefits / Research

Studies show that supplementing glucosamine sulphate will reduce the rate of collagen (joint tissue) degradation and symptoms of osteoarthritis.

    Joint support

In studies, glucosamine when combined with MSM has demonstrated decreased symptoms of osteoarthritis when compared to placebo including decreased pain and swelling 1.

    Protect from collagen breakdown

Various studies demonstrate that glucosamine can significantly reduce signs of collagen breakdown, the substance important for the health and structure of not only joints, but skin as well 2.

    Bio-Glucosamine + MSM Cream

Bio-Glucosamine+MSM cream contains glucosamine which research has shown may help support joints.  It also contains MSM which has been shown to improve the absorption of glucosamine through the skin.  Bio-Glucosamine + MSM also contains Japanese Mint, Butcher’s broom and Hawaiian White Ginger Lilly to help soothe pain.
