Glucose | Flavoring and nutrition for the cells

Glucose is a simple sugar, a monosaccharide, that sweetens less than regular sugar, it is also called dextrose. Our brain basically only uses glucose for nutrition. Glucose is not considered as an excipient but a food, although in the context of dietary supplements it can act as an excipient (sweetener). Therefore, it has no E-number and there is no legal restriction on how much may be consumed.

Pharma Nord's glucose is extracted from maize but is so purified that it is tolerated by people who are allergic to maize.

Glucose monohydrate is crystalline glucose containing one hydrate (water molecule) per glucose molecule.
