    Polyethylene Glycol 6000 | Glazing agent


    Polyethylene glycol 6000 is also called Macrogol 6000, or can also be called Polyethylene Oxide or PEG for short. It does not have an E-Number. 

    Polyethylene glycol 6000 is a polymer of ethylene glycol. It is a white, yellowish, odourless substance with a waxy structure and is soluble in water. It is considered a pharmacologically inactive substance as it is hardly absorbed in the body (<5%).

    It is used as a coating agent. It stabilises the tablet content as well as increases the absorption of the tablet ingredients.
