Maltodextrin | Bulking agent and anti-caking agent

    Related term: maltodextrin

Maltodextrin is an odourless polysaccharide (sugar) without an E-number. Maltodextrin is slightly sweet but rapidly absorbed. It is produced by the breakdown of starch from various plants. It is used both as a bulking agent and as an anti-caking agent.

Pharma Nord uses maltodextrin from enzymatically treated corn starch (GMO-free), which is why it does not contain gluten.

Maltodextrin in Bio-Curcumin, however, comes from either cassava or potato.
