Lecithin | Natural phospholipid and emulsifier

Lecithin is a natural phospholipid. It is also called phosphatidylcholine or phosphocholine. It is produced in plants, animals and humans. Lecithin is found in soybeans, sunflower seeds and egg yolks. In animals and humans, lecithin is the main component of cell walls and membranes.

Lecithin is an emulsifier, which means that the molecule is water-soluble at one end and fat-soluble at the other. This property allows it to bind water and fat together. It can therefore be used as both a moisturising and emulsifying ingredient. Lecithin also has some antioxidant activity.

Lecithin can act both as an active ingredient and as an excipient with E-Number 322. The substance is permitted for use without restriction in all foods where additives are permitted.

The lecithin in Bio-Curcumin is extracted from soy but is NON-GMO. It is used in a patented technology that microencapsulates the active ingredients in the curcumin preparation, which increases absorption.
