Full of cold? Think Zinc!

Zinc is an essential mineral primarily found in cells and, in cellular fluid throughout the body. Our white and red blood cells contain a substantial amount of zinc. Together with copper, zinc is an important constituent of the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD).

Zinc has many different functions in the human body and supports about 200 different enzymes.

These are some of the most important functions of zinc:

  • Contributes to a normal well-functioning immune system
  • Part of normal DNA-synthesis
  • Contributes to protecting cells from oxidative stress
  • Support the maintenance of normal nails, bones, hair, skin and vision

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and carries out various other important functions such as:

  • Contributing to reducing fatigue and tiredness
  • Supporting a normal energy metabolism
  • Supporting normal functioning of the nervous system
  • Helping regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E in the body
  • Contributing to normal psychological function

Acerola is a large (2-3 cm) cherry-like fruit.  There are several different Acerola varieties, Bio-Influ-Zinc contains a refined version. Acerola's vitamin C content is extremely high and provides 1,500-3,000 mg of the vitamin per 100g.

We recommend 3-6 pastilles per day for 7 to 10 days or when symptoms subside or as directed by a physician.

Note: Place the pastille in the mouth. Suck on the pastille until it is completely dissolved. Do not eat or drink immediately after taking a pastille.

Our Zinc Lozenges are also suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Relative to the food we eat, the size of individual nutrients are actually incredibly small. As a result, we need to use units other than grammes (g) to describe them. Here’s what the common units for nutrients are:

Grammes (G)- often used to describe nutritional powders.  Most teaspoons of powder weigh approximately 5g.

Milligrams (Mg)- 1000mg is equal to 1g

Micrograms (Mcg or μg)- 1000μg is equal to 1mg

International Units (IU)- Slightly more complex than milligrams (mg) and micrograms (μg), International Units measure differently from nutrient to nutrient. The most common nutrients that are likely to be measured in IU are vitamins D, E and A.

  • Vitamin D: 1 IU is the equivalent of 0.025 μg of D2 or D3
  • Vitamin A: 1 IU is the equivalent of 0.3 mcg retinol
  • Beta-carotene (provitamin A): 1 IU is the equivalent of 0.6 μg of beta carotene
  • Vitamin E: 1 IU is the equivalent of 0.67 mg d-alpha-tocopherol

Hayley - 21st November 2020:

Absolutely incredible, magical tablets. I was a long time sufferer of tonsillitis that only very strong antibiotics could cure until I was introduced to these. I have one as soon as I feel a tickle coming on and that’s it’s gone. These tablets saved me thank you.

Used these tablets since Monday and have been taking 6 a day. Started with a scratchy sore throat on Sunday and now it has completely eased (wed). Been keeping them at the back of my tongue to dissolve.
