Pharma Nord spreads the sugar message at Natural Health Trade Summit 2015

Pharma Nord recently attended the newly launched Natural Health Trade Summit at the Palace Hotel in Manchester. The show, which is new for 2015, saw health food retailers from across the UK gather to network and learn more about the latest developments in natural products.

As well as showcasing the Pharma Nord range in the exhibition hall, the Pharma Nord team, including national sales manager Rasmus Henriksen, marketing executive Trevor Pill and leading pharmacist Dennis Gore, held a roundtable discussion focused on one of the biggest health challenges we face today - sugar.

The discussion was one of the best attended during the show, with more than 35 retailers taking part. Participants left with a clearer understanding of nutritional approaches for blood sugar management and the role of the health food industry in helping the nation to curb their sugar addiction.

The Natural Health Trade Summit provided the perfect opportunity to introduce retailers to Pharma Nord's latest offering, Bio-Gluco Control.

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), sugar has become the number one food issue for consumers for the first time. More than two thirds of consumers are actively looking to reduce their sugar intake and Bio-Gluco Control can help them on this journey.

Rasmus Henriksen commented: “Our aim at this year's summit was to raise awareness of the dangers of high blood sugar. Hidden sugars are contained in many of the foods and drinks we consume and even healthy individuals who eat a well balanced diet can gain an advantage by enhancing the body's utilisation of sugar. We hope retailers found our advice on how to control blood sugar levels through supplementation helpful.”
